Job Summary/Company:

A Sparks Group Partner, a banking and financial services company, is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead a newly created team. They recently launched a real-time payment system for all U.S. banks. Currently, this position is remote due to COVID, but will eventually turn into a hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities:

Hands on management of 3-5 people; expect to add headcount as team grows and gets more funding

Lead a team of developers building and supporting common business services used by all company products

Identify opportunities for developing and re-using common components/services in existing and new applications

Qualifications/Background Profile:

Experience developing highly secure applications

Ability to effectively manage projects and developers using both Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall development practices

Understanding of Cloud and On-Premise application architectures and design patterns

Experience developing mission critical transaction processing systems

Experience developing mission critical transaction processing systems

Experience working with XML schemas

Experience mentoring and working with other team members in an Agile environment

Experience working with a Secure-SDLC and implementing check points and processes for building and deploying code within that regulated environment

Experience developing and supporting large, mission critical transaction processing application is preferred

Experience with payment systems, networks, and protocols (i.e., Fedwire, CHIPS, SWIFT, ISO2022, ACH, etc.) is a plus
