SUMMARY

The R&D Engineer II in this position contributes to the development of internal tools used to automate and streamline the testing of Ansys products, and company processes and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with developers, testers, and internal customers to create and enhance existing desktop and web applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, and testing of features in object-oriented applications
• Works in full stack environment writing SQL database queries, developing object-oriented software, and performing basic front-end design
• Investigates problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
• Collaborates with a team of software developers and internal customers to clarify customer requirements and propose new features
• Maintains the synchronization of assets used by testing teams to remote sites
• Works under the general supervision of a development manager
  
  

MINIMUM QAULIFICATIONS

• BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years' experience or MS

• Working experience with software design and development methodologies
• Technical knowledge and experience with object-oriented design and at least one of the following: C# and/or Java
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
  
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical knowledge and experience with running applications and scripts on Linux
• Proficient in one or more scripting languages such as Python, Bash and/or PowerShell
• Experience with ASP.NET web development, JavaFX, SQL databases and REST APIs
• Familiarity with source code and build management tools such as Git and Azure DevOps
• Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment
